Terms of Sale
1. Orders and Payment
All prices are stated in US dollars. Payment is due in full at the time of order. Orders are confirmed only upon receipt of payment. Where an edition is offered before it ships, the order is a pre-order, and the expected shipping window is stated on the product page.
2. Edition Numbers
Edition numbers are allocated in the order in which orders are confirmed. At checkout, a customer may request a first and second choice of number; requests are honored where the number is still available when the order is confirmed. Once allocated, a number is final and cannot be exchanged for a different number. The number belongs to the puzzle and stays with it if the puzzle is later sold or gifted. A cancelled order returns its number to the available pool.
3. Returns and Defects
All sales are final except in the case of a manufacturing defect present at the time of opening. A defect claim must be submitted with photographs within seven (7) days of delivery and must describe the defect as found; Lumenea reserves the right to request photographs of the piece in its assembled state to evaluate the claim. Normal variation in natural wood grain, color, and hand-finishing is not a defect, and dissatisfaction with the artwork, assembly experience, or personal preference after purchase is not a defect.
Lumenea will, at its sole discretion, repair, replace, or refund a confirmed defect. Where Lumenea requires the item to be returned as a condition of remedy, it must be returned complete, in its original packaging, and in the same condition in which it was received, with all pieces, the certificate, and the registration card included. An item that has been assembled, is missing pieces, or shows damage beyond the claimed defect does not qualify for return.
A missing piece can only be discovered during assembly, so a claim for a missing piece may be made within thirty (30) days of delivery, with a photograph of the assembled puzzle showing the gap and the edition number. The return conditions above do not apply to these claims. Lumenea will, at its sole discretion, replace the piece where possible, or replace or refund the edition.
4. Shipping and Risk of Loss
Shipping is provided at no additional charge on orders within the United States. Orders to Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Australia are charged the shipping shown at checkout, and any import duties and taxes are calculated and collected at checkout; for these orders the customer is not charged duties or import taxes on delivery. Risk of loss passes to the customer upon delivery to the shipping address provided at checkout. Lumenea is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or by customs. The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout; Lumenea is not responsible for non-delivery or misdelivery resulting from an incorrect address supplied by the customer.
5. Limitation of Liability
Lumenea's total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount paid for that item. Lumenea is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, sentimental value, or resale value. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
Products are sold as described. Except as expressly stated in these Terms, Lumenea makes no other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Right to Refuse or Cancel
Lumenea reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at its sole discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or repeated unreasonable demands directed at Lumenea or its staff.
8. Intellectual Property
All artwork, brand marks, and edition designs remain the property of Lumenea LLC and its licensing artists. Purchase of a product conveys ownership of the physical item only, and does not convey any right to reproduce the artwork, brand marks, or edition design.
9. Limited Edition Claims
Where a product is described as a limited or numbered edition, the stated edition size is accurate and Lumenea maintains production records substantiating it.
10. Changes to These Terms
Lumenea may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms in effect at the time of an order govern that order.
11. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or a purchase will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cobb County, Georgia.
